Turkish soldiers murder 28-year-old Mikail Ekinci in the Aynalı rural neighborhood of Diyarbakir’s Çınar district
Soldiers raided a hamlet in the Aynalı rural neighborhood of Diyarbakır’s Çınar district and killed Mikail Ekinci, a 28-year-old father of 3 children.
According to Yeni Hayat’s report, a large number of soldiers raided the hamlet where Ekinci lived with his family. The soldiers claimed they had an arrest warrant against the victim. The soldiers broke down the door of the Ekinci family’s house and wielded violence on the family members. Ekinci, who allegedly disobeyed the “stop” warning during the raid, was murdered. The victim was buried in the cemetery in the hamlet after the autopsy procedures.
The arrest warrant for Ekinci was due to the fight between the Ekinci and Aydın families on 12 March 2021. The fight was due to a land dispute that resulted in the death of one person. In the brawl, Kamil Ekinci lost his life, and three people from the opposing Aydın family were arrested. Two months after the fight, Cemal Aydın was killed in an attack.
