Two parliamentarian representatives from DTP, Mr. Ahmet Türk and Ms. Emine Ayna were attacked by the Turkish police during a ceremony for a slain Kurdish representative. Mehmet Sincar, another elected Kurdish representative from now closed DEP, the Kurdish party, was slain by what is called the “deep state” in Turkey. The “Deep State” is the illegal and secret force of the Turkish state to torture and assassinate the opposition. Mehmet Sincar’s constituents planned a ceremony at the burial site where the current representatives of the DTP (the Kurdish, Democratic Society Party) were also present.

When the crowd of thousands gathered in front of the DTP and started marching towards the graveyard, the police started harassing the participants and finally arrested a 12 year old child. When the crowd reacted to such unnecessary and provocative behavior by the police many people were beaten by the Turkish police.

The parliamentarians were also beaten by the cops in the scuffle that ensued.
